I’m 2 weeks into my retirement, and I’m thinking that I could get used to this! Although I do miss being around my friends and colleagues, and working together to get things done, I’m now appreciating being around my wife who I love, my home that I love, and the cat that I would love if he would let me. I feel very satisfied.
Plus, all those hobbies and activities that I had to make time for are now just waiting for me. I spent the last several months reconfiguring a space for me in the garage that has most of my “stuff”. My PC with access to endless media, workspace for my stained glass creations and a workspace for taking photos of Colleen’s creations for Etsy. It is a bit cold in the morning, but this is Southern California and the warmth is right around the corner.
Some say the retirement is a destination, to me, it is just another step.
